It’s Not Just About Furniture
If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know that we don’t just focus on furniture. It was the starting point and main focus for a while but the thing about outdoor furniture is that its seasonal. When Winter hits, we’re usually quiet and left wondering how to keep the business ticking over. One of the first not furniture products we started making was chopping/charcuterie boards. We often had a lot of timber offcuts laying around that were too good for the bin. It was quick work and easy money so how could we not do it?
Fast forward to March this year and we were approahed by another small, family run, local Adelaide Hills business. Their busines model? Selling premium gift hampers that showcase the finest South Australian products on offer. How does this relate to us, you ask? What’s one thing that pairs well in a food/wine hamper? You guessed it, a charcuerie board. Long story short, they were looking for a new supplier, had seen our previous work and asked if we could make something of a specific design. A few weeks later we had sourced a bulk lot of Camphor timber, drawn up a design and entered into an agreement to supply a large quantity of miniature cheese boards over a semi-regular basis.
It’s the perfect work to fill the void when the winter blues roll in. Each board has a slightly unique shape and grain pattern look and no two boards will every truly be the same.
